A new career path
I have a background as accountant, where I worked 5 years at an accountancy firm while studying a financial education alongside the daily work. During this period I discovered that my interests were in IT development, and in 2008 I decided to quit accounting and study Computer Science instead. I was introduced to TeleBilling during my education and became certain that it would be possible to combine my experience in accounting with my interest for computer science. At that time I also knew that my preferred workplace after my studies was TeleBilling. The education included an internship and a final project at a company, and I was so lucky to be able to carry out both at TeleBilling.
An internship with challenging tasks
During my internship I had the opportunity to be part of the Product Development Department. I really felt that I was part of the company - solving tasks just like my other colleagues. The tasks were adjusted for what I needed to learn but still real challenging tasks. That gave me a great insight in working with IT development and using SCRUM. There was no doubt that I wanted to perform my final project at TeleBilling as well. The work climate at TeleBilling suited me very well; people are friendly, dedicated and helpful.
The final project - building a real product
For my final project TeleBilling gave me the task to look into the reporting services of TeleBilling's billing and customer care solution naviBilling. From the start I knew that TeleBilling planned to realise and sell the outcome of my project afterwards. Still they allowed me to influence the project in any way I wanted. For me it was a big motivating factor that I knew that my work was going to be sold to "real" customers afterwards. Help was never far away as my counsellor from TeleBilling and my colleagues supported me in the best possible way.
Working at TeleBilling
After finishing the project I was offered a job at TeleBilling as a Billing Consultant. I am very excited about my new position, because the company has been very good at finding tasks that match what I am good at. I can use my background in accounting in my daily work and still work with software development tasks. The outcome of my project is now sold to customers and I can continue the work based on real customer input.
